Title: One-Health Approach to Study Human Fasciola hepatica Transmission and Inform Strategic Control (Copy 1)
Year Started: 2022
Cross sectional study including human, livestock, snails, and the environment to study the transmission of Fasciola hepatica in the highlands of Peru. Feces (human and livestock), serum (human), plasma (human), and PBMCs (human), tissue (snail), and water samples will be collected to study factors associated with transmission. We expect to include 1,500 children and adults and their farms (water bodies within them). We will study 4,800 livestock.
